April 23 - 25:  Springfest.  This annual event takes place in Heber Springs, Arkansas.  For more inforation on the fun and games offered at Springfest contact the Heber Springs Chamber of Commerce at www.heber-springs.com

 

July 3:  Annual Fireworks Extravaganza.   A big day to celebrate on the Sandy Beach in Heber Springs.  Sit back and enjoy (from land or water) one of the largest Fireworks displays in the state on Greers Ferry Lake at 9:30 PM.  Visit the Heber Springs Chamber of Commerce website at www.heber-springs.com for more information.

 

July 31:  22nd Annual World Championship Cardboard Boat Race
Races.  The events usually begin around 10 AM with youth and adult divisions.  Awards that have been given include the “Pride of the Fleet” and for the notorious “Titanic Award”.  Battle it out in a Tug of War contest, the kids' Treasure Dig or enter the Sandsculpting contest.  Visitors can stuff themselves in the World Championship Watermelon Eating Contest.  However, nothing is over until the Cardboard Boat Demolition Derby.  For a boat application visit the Heber Springs Chamber of Commerce website at

TBA:  Wakefest.  Wakefest on Greers Ferry Lake is an annual Slalom, Wakeboard and Kneeboard competition you will not want to miss. For more information email heberwakefest@yahoo.com  or visit  www.heberwakefest.com.

 

Sept. - Nov.:   High School Football.   Local high schools, including the Heber Springs Panthers, Clinton Yellowjackets, Quitman Bulldogs and Rosebud Ramblers are playing high school football.  Check with one of these local high schools for their football schedule.

 

Nov. - March:  High School Basketball.  Most of the local high schools begin basketball in November.  Schools with beautiful new gyms that enhance the high school basketball experience include Greers Ferry West Side, Heber Springs and Rose Bud.

 

Labor Day Weekend:  Chuck Wagon Races  This an annual event over Labor Day Weekend in Clinton, Arkansas.  Contact the Clinton Chamber of Commerce for more information.

 

September 11:  Annual Lake Clean-up  Contact the Corps of Engineers or one of the local marinas on Greers Ferry Lake and pitch in to help with the annual clean-up.  Thanks for helping keep our beautiful Greers Ferry Lake and Little Red River area clean!

 

TBA:  Tri-The-Lake Triathlon.   Sandy Beach Recreation Area in Heber Springs.  This race event consist of a 500 Yard Swim, a 13.5 Mile Bike Ride and a 3.2 Mile Run.  For more information visit www.DLTmultisport.com.  

 

TBA:  Rally in the Ozarks!  The annual Rally in the Ozarks includes a bike show, Big Biker Mamma, Burner and other contests,  vendors and more!  Admission is daily or for the entire weekend.  For additional information, go to www.exploreclinton.com


TBA:  Chili King Cook-off.   The Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce's Annual Chili King Cook-off brings together the best chili chefs for an evening of fun, food, and more!  Activities for kids, a Jalapeno Eating Competition and All You Can Eat Chili.  For additional information, go to www.exploreclinton.com


TBA:  South Fork Trail Day.   Experience the beauty of the new walking trails at South Fork Nature Center's Trail Day!  An absolute stunning walk along the trails of Greers Ferry Lake plus music, wood carvers and more!   For additional information, go to www.exploreclinton.com

 

TBA:  Light Up The Park  Ho, Ho, Ho, Merry Christmas.  A Lighted Christmas parade usually begins around 6:00 PM and ends with Santa, music and Christmas lights in Spring Park in Heber Springs.  Snowflakes line Main Street, 500 luminaries will glow throughout the park and around the lighted Historical Cleburne County Courthouse. A live nativity scene on the east side of Spring Park demonstrates the REAL reason for the season.
